On the above date at approximately 0922 hrs, An Officer working the mess hall and observed inmate leaving the mess hall. The inmate works in the mess hall and was observed by the Officer to have two bulges in his front pockets. The Officer questioned the inmate and directed the inmate to remove what was in his pockets. At that time, the inmate removed two (2) cups of yogurt from his pocket and threw them at the Officer. He then charged at the Officer which moved them into the Tray Room and placed both hands around the Officer’s neck from the front. The Officer attempted to use her radio to summons help, but was unable to reach it due to the hold that the inmate had on her. The inmate then changed his hold to a rear choke and that is the last thing that the Officer can remember before waking up to water being thrown in her face by other staff.

The Officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She is unable to return to duty at this time.
