NYU Langone Health Hospitals’ Participation in The Empire Plan Provider Network May Expire July 15, 2019
This is an update of the memo that was posted on May 23rd (below) regarding NYU Langone Health Hospitals’ participation in the Empire Plan.
I stated that the agreement with these hospitals expires on July 1st. I have just been notified that their agreement with Blue Cross/Blue Shield has been extended until July 15th. Therefore, if an agreement is not reached by July 15th, these hospitals will be out-of-network facilities (not July 1st as previously stated). In addition, I mentioned that letters would be going out to affected members on June 1st. Due to the extension, those letters won’t be mailed until June 15th.

This memo is notification that recent contract negotiations with NYU Langone Health Hospitals have been unsuccessful to date; therefore, unless further negotiations lead to a contract agreement, this hospital network will be considered out-of-network for services rendered on or after July 1, 2019.
