Razor Recovered After Inmate Attacks Staff
Marcy, NY – Two officers and a sergeant were injured at Marcy Correctional Facility last week after an inmate bit one officer and fought with staff who were attempting to recover contraband the inmate had hidden on him.
The incident occurred on Thursday, August 18. An officer assigned to one of the dorm buildings ordered the inmate to submit to a pat frisk. Initially, the officer felt a bulge inside of the inmates pants near his groin. The inmate was placed in handcuffs and escorted to the frisk area of the gymnasium. The handcuffs were removed so a complete frisk could be completed. Once the handcuffs were removed, the inmate reached into his underwear and grabbed an unknown object. FULL PRESS RELEASE
