Extreme Violence Continues at Elmira Correctional Facility

Elmira, NY – Two weeks after union officials reported seven inmate fights at the end of July, including several involving make-shift weapons, five inmate fights occurred during the first two weeks of August and four officers were injured after an inmate, who faked a suicide attempt in his cell, attacked the officers who entered his cell to help him at the maximum security prison.
