Assault Alert – Sullivan CF

On the above date at approximately 1730 hrs, inmate Raqwan 17A3221, appeared to be attempting suicide by hanging himself with a bed sheet tied around his neck. The inmate was slumped and motionless. As two CO’s entered his cell to render help, the inmate straightened himself up and struck one of the Officers in the face. Both Officers used force to take the inmate to the floor. The combative inmate then kicked the same Officer, striking him in the knee. The Officers were able to gain control of the inmate and mechanical wrist restraints were applied. As the inmate was being evaluated in another area of the facility, he again attempted to attack Officers and force was used to gain compliance. An Officer was injured during that use of force and was unable to remain on duty. All other Officers remained on duty.
