NYSCOPBA President Donn Rowe today published an op-ed in the Albany Times Union
on the current violence and congested prisons that exist in New York. The op-ed
highlights the increased violence on NYSCOPBA members that was reported in the
annual report released by the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision
this month. It also highlights troubling reporting methods DOCCS uses to downplay the
severity of the injuries sustained by staff as a result of inmate violence.
