During the evening chow run a Sergeant observed CO and I/M exchanging words at F&G corridor. After being relieved by a fellow Sgt, the Sergeant went to investigate the nature of the disturbance. While walking towards the corridor, the Sergeant observed the I/M advance toward the CO then grabbing him by the waist . Sergeant immediately called a response. Struggling to free himself from the I/M’s grasp, the CO used body strikes to put space between him and the I/M. However, the I/M once again charged at the CO. At this time responding CO arrived and administered one application of OC Pepper Spray. The desired effect was achieved and the I/M became compliant. Mechanical restraints were applied and the I/M was taken to the secure housing unit.
