At approximately 11:10PM, the dorm Officer was making rounds in the I/M’s bathroom and discovered an I/M on the floor acting in a strange matter. As he approached the I/M, the I/M got to his feet and charged the officer in a threatening manner. The I/M was given several direct orders to stop and back off. As the officer backed away the I/M struck the officer with a closed fist to the right side of his face. The officer pulled his alarm and then deployed one application of OC Spray to the I/M’s face. The I/M became compliant. The area supervisor and response team arrived and applied mechanical restraints. The officer was seen by medical staff with injuries noted, twisted right ankle and soreness to the right side of his face.
