At approximately 0735 hrs, as an Officer was conducting security rounds in the Correctional Alternative Rehabilitation (CAR) program, an I/M threw a liquid substance from his cell which struck the Officer in his ear, nose, mouth, chest, and legs. The liquid had a fecal odor and left stains that were brown in color on the Officer’s uniform and under shirt. The area Supervisor was notified and Aggravated Harassment Protocol were started. The Officer was sent to an outside hospital for medical treatment.

On the same date at approximately 0747 hrs, while an Officer as securing the crime scene from the incident described above, same I/M again threw a liquid substance which had a fecal odor, striking the Officer. The Officer was treated by medical staff.

Also on the same date at approximately 0750 hrs, while attempting to move the I/M to a more secure cell, the inmate attempted to run in his cell while a retention strap was secured to his mechanical wrist restraints. This action caused the Officer to be pulled into his cell and physical force was required to gain control of the inmate. Once compliance was gained, the inmate was escorted to his new cell location. During the escort, the inmate became physically non-compliant and needed several direct orders to continue with the escort. Once the inmate entered his cell, the inmate again ran towards the side of the cell, pulling on the retention strap and injuring the hand of the Officer who was in control of the strap.
