Yesterday marked the 51st anniversary of the Attica Correctional Facility uprising that lasted for four days from September 9 to the 13th, and culminated with 10 correction officers and civilians losing their life during the uprising and takeover of the prison. Members of NYSCOPBA’s Executive Board and union members attended to Attica Memorial to pay their respects to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with the victims and their families.
