Officer Garrett Kalies – while on duty 7/16/19 in the arsenal at Mohawk CF, his partner, Officer R. Schwebe, began choking on his lunch and his airway was completely blocked. Officer Kalies sprang into action and performed the Heimlich Maneuver on him and dislodged the blockage in his airway. (As a note, Officer Kalies has indicated that he would prefer to be recognized locally so the valor award was presented at the 9/10/19  Mohawk Sector union meeting.)
