Officer Struck in Face with Padlock

Romulus, NY – Two officers were injured when they entered an infirmary cell and were attacked by an inmate who was destroying property inside the cell at the maximum security correctional facility.

On Thursday, August 22, an officer conducting rounds in the facility infirmary heard banging and yelling coming from one of the hospital cells. When he went to investigate, the officer observed the inmate on the hospital bed ripping out electrical wires from the bed and destroying the fire alarm on the ceiling. The officer gave several orders to stop but the inmate ignored the orders.   FULL PRESS RELEASE
